Oregon Brew Festival 2011

July 27, 2011

What are YOU doing this weekend? Praying for sunshine so you can…. come drink beer in Portland? I thought so….

This weekend a road trip to Portland is a great idea because the Oregon Brew Fest is going on! Our friendly neighbors to the south are probably the only other local city just as obsessed with awesome craft beer as Seattle, so I have no doubt in my mind that this weekend is going to be a blast.

Here are some quick facts from the FAQ page:

When: The OBF is always held the last full weekend in July. “Full” means that all four days of the festival must fall in July. If Saturday or Sunday falls in August, the festival is moved back a week. The 2011 event will take place July 28, 29, 30 & 31.

Where: The OBF is always held at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in downtown Portland. The event takes place between the Morrison and Burnside Bridges. There are four entrances: under the Morrison Street Bridge, at SW Oak Street, at SW Pine Street, and along the Seawall at Pine. The SW Oak Street entrance will put you closest to the token and mug sales.

How much:  Entrance into the Oregon Brewers Festival is free, if you want to walk around, check out the food vendors, or listen to the live music. In order to consume beer at the OBF, you must purchase a 2011 souvenir mug for $6 – this is in lieu of an admission charge. MUGS FROM PREVIOUS YEARS WILL NOT BE FILLED. You will purchase your beer with wooden tokens. Tokens cost $1 apiece. It costs four tokens for a full mug of beer, or one token for a taste. Beer servers do not accept cash

Who: Way too many to list here, READ MORE…

Why: If you have to ask, you probably shouldn’t come!
